Hi, Dianne,

Probably too late, but I noticed that nothing was said about:

1. PK joystick not working in many applications.
2. PK or mPower freezing upon loading DAISY books.
3. Folders do not always delete with the hotkey from a list--if there is anything in the folder, the message "the network request is not supported" appears and the folder is not deleted. (the point of deleting is to erase the contents anyway.) 4. The BN will not let the user manually type in a directory path as a destination when copying folders (it says the path cannot be found), so the user must navigate to each subfolder in a directory.

I could not make it to the conference, so the above are the things I have experienced/have heard about on the BN list that were not in the bugs/suggestions list.

I have taken Andrew's and Robbin's emails off the "send to" tab, so this only goes to you, Dianne. You can do with it what you want, but I did not want to supplement anything of yours with this unofficial add-on.

Have a great day,
Alex

Subject: [Braillenote] LIST OF BUGS COMPILED AT PHONE CONFERENCE

I am very grateful to Joseph,Rhonda, Richard, and Isaih for quickly and competently compiling the following list of bugs and suggestions for fixes at today's phone conference.

As per their separate requests, I am sending copies to Andy Riden and Robin Williams of the HUMANWARE staff.

List of bugs that were discussed during Conference:

Bugs:
1. Occasionally, there has been an issue of Braillenote freezing for no
apparent reason. It is accompanied by the fatal application dialog. The
issue is that: when a file is downloaded from the Internet, contrary to
HumanWare's words, the file is still saved first onto the system disk, and
than it is copied over to the desired location. When the disk becomes full,
the fatal dialog appears.
2. Some people expressed concerns about an issue where an extra dot 4 might
be present. It happens with both the display and speech.
3. Some also expressed concerns with file manager. Although we praised new
features that were introduced with KeySoft 7.2 in regard to file manager,
there were mainly two concerns: one, that it uses its own copy command
(backspace with y or Ctrl_y) instead of universal copy command (backspace
with k or Ctrl_k). And, second, it is also found that there is no way of
switching directly to File manager from anywhere in KeySoft.
4. Some also expressed concerns about memory code in calculator. When a user
saves a value e.g. 100 to memory from KeyPlus, and after the user has
performed a Reset, when the user goes back to KeyPlus and loads that memory,
the value might have doubled somehow.
5. It is also found that the User Guide is written in a way that suggests
that it is out of date. We also observed some issues with the text of the
manual itself e.g. there is a section on the Media Player that the text
might drop out from middle of a sentence.

Suggestions:
1. It has been suggested that we have a more tighty file manager with
the universal copy command implemented, plus a universal hotkey to switch to
File Manager from anywhere in KeySoft.
2. The manual should be written in a way that reflects the current KeySoft
version. Also, the manual should be checked for inconsistancies.

I

Diane Kelker
