Hello Rhonda, robert, et al,
ON two occasions, a kind individual has "Paired" my Nokia 6256
cellphone and my M-Power. The individuals are blind, but had
assistance from someone who could see the cellphone visual
display. Unfortunately, the devices became unpaied early in
July, when something different was done with the phone.
Specifically, while attempting to set up DSL in my home, a
sighted friend used my Cellphone to contact tech suport, so her
husanbd, also sighted, could follow instructions.
Bingo! Next time I tried to use the clelphone and M-Power, they
were unpaired. Once again, a kind individual, named Mike
Tindell, got my system up and running, with help from my son.
Then, another friend tried to show me how to use the speaker
feature on my cellphone, and unpaied the devices.
To clarify, I don't have speech software on my phone, so anyone
trying to work with this system has to be able to see the
cellphone display.
One pewrson, a volunteer, who comes once a month to do mail,
tried to help. However, he got frustrated because he didn't
know what I was trying to do. What I needed to do was to enter a
4-diget code, but, with no instructions, we never got it done.
Since you folks primarily rely on speech with your cellphones, I
don't know if you can help. (iIffany Manosh, (Forgive me if I
speeled the last name incorrecxtly) of sacramento, offered to
help. However, I suspect she would also need assistance from
someone who can read the cellphone visual display!)
At this point, I have two thought:
* Perhaps, if I had access to the 6256 Cellphone Manual it would
help.
* It might also help to get speech software. Unfortunately, I
don't know where to get it, what it costs, or how I'd install
it.
One final note: I do not have Data Service. I use dial-up, and
have done so successfully white the M-Power and cellphone were
"paired and active."
