Hi Kandi and list,
I discovered the same thing about a year ago. Dean Jackkson
assured me that the HW ingineers knew about it, and that it is
nothing to worry about. Apparently it is the power to the Braille
display shutting down. I have his original message, but can't lay
my hands on it at the moment. The bottom line is that you don't
need to worry about it. And, if you are running on battery,
you'll know when the BN has gone to sleep!
HTH,
Rachael

Every time I turn off the BN it makes this little whining
noise--it's hard to discribe it. It's really quiet and I guess
it kind of sounds like a siren. It does it all the time.

Kandie,
Alex Parks also discovered it, so did I. What were you doing
before you
turned off your unit? What kind of noise was it? Were there any
USB devices
attached to your BN

Sorry about the long subject line, couldn't think of another way
to word it.
My first question is about the media player--kind of. In the
media player
section of the manual it has a list of the supported types of
files. Why
doesn't it say that the BN can play midi files? I found out by
accident that
it can.
Also, I've noticed that when I turn off my mpower, it makes a
quiet kind of
whining noise. I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this,
and if I
should be concerned.
Thanks in advance.
