Hello John and list,
The best thing one can do is back up what you have in the BN. That's the
only way something can be recovered. Then again, one can make two copies of
a document and keep the second copy aside just in case something happens to
the main document. Just a few thoughts for what they are worth!

Unfortunately, is was, indeed, a document. Serves me right for doing
work when I'm truly exhausted. I deleted it on accident and before I
realized I did it. It would be nice if there was a way to recover it,
but, again, not critical.
