I find it goes in cycles on my PK. some days it never happens, some days it happens frequently. The only work around that I have found that avoids having to do a re-set is that some times I can hit backspace+enter+a, for example, and jump to the Address List from Key Word and presto, speech is back. It doesn't matter which other program you jump to, but jump to something else and then go back and all is well. This works about half the time. This was true in 7.0 and now in 7.2, though my work around is working less often it seems.

I haven't found any consistent pattern.

Not very helpful I know, but that is the way it is.

Sharon, I don't have a PK, but I lose speech on my classic running 7.0.

Subject: [Braillenote] Loosing speech on the PK

Hi, I have written about this before but I am wondering if anyone
else has
lost their speech as often as I am? I have lost it four times
today on my PK
and two of those time were within only a few minutes of each
other. each
time I can
still use the Braille display and I get the speech back with a
reset but it
is becoming a real pain. I talked to my local Humanware member on
Friday and
she said that this was a problem that happens with all the
machines
occasionally but I have never had it with my classic.

So just after anyone else's opinions on this I have written to my
local
Humanware person about it but just while I am waiting for her I
just wanted
to know what others thoughts were. Normally it happens in a
document but
today it also happen in the planner. I am running keysoft 7.0 on
a Braille
note PK.

From Shaz.
