I know you have said that; I lost the other email and the files needing to be there to make CE happy enough to run for KS never clicked. Now I think I get it: if CE sees some of these files or folders missing, it will be unable to run due to how it is coded. If they are there, even though KS itself never uses them, the functions in CE will run fine. Again, that never clicked until just now.

Have a great day,
Alex

Alex,
That is before (I've said this once): Windows
CE is a graphical user interface. These bmp,
gif, and other graphical files represent
icons used by Windows CE. KeySoft is built
on top of Windows CE (some Windows CE
functions requires that these folders to be
present in order to function correctly).

I am still curious as to why /KeySoft system
disk/windows
contains gif, bmp, and other useless files
and why it has
subfolders that seem to do nothing (desktop,
recent, and so on).

Have a great day,
Alex

Exactly, I see much Windows CE in there. I
used to have a PAC
Mate and
have worked with Mobile Speak pocket on a
real Pocket PC and also
have
enough vision to use a PPC up very close.
The storage functions
particularly show Windows CE, not to mention
the fact that you
can
clearly see a Windows folder - which, by the
way, contains an
interesting file named 8sinks.mp3 ... if you
haven't heard it,
bring
up media player and navigate to Keysoft
System Disk\Windows...
dunno
why it's there but it is! LOL OK I'm going OT
but I'll be asking
at
CTG so I'll let the list know what I find
out. laters

Flint,
I second your message. I believe KeySoft
uses some Windows CE functions when
performing some tasks. So, it is like
programming for Pecket PC except that you
are
compiling for an alternative user interface.
