I don't know if it would cause damage, but I don't think it would play it. When I had an older BrailleNote that only played mp3's I downloaded some wavs and tried to get them to play on the BN. I renamed the extensions and it froze the BN. It didn't do any damage, though. I just reset it and it was fine.

Just curious. What would happen if you had an .ogg file or some
other unsupported format and renamed it to something like .mp3? Dou you think the bn would play it, or would it lock up and cause damage?
