Thanks Joseph.
However, bluetooth has decided not to work for me.
Can you give me details on setting up bluetooth on my computer first?
The software I have got with the USB dongle is 'blue soleil"
Remember I have never used bluetooth earlier. Do we need some device for braillenote too?
Are there some do's and don't's?

Regards
Taraprakash

Subject: [BrailleNote] using Bluetooth for Terminal for Screen Reader

Tara and list,
I apologize for the last message (Rhonda, now I understand why you've reported error with the translation). Here is the actual message that I meant to post:

The range of Bluetooth is about 30 ft (10 m). Follow these steps:
1. From anywhere in KeySoft, go to
Options/Connectivity/Bluetooth. When the prompt is displayed, select yes. After few moments Bluetooth Manager will present the list of bluetooth devices that
every in range. Note: be sure to note the
exact name that you've given to your computer. Press ENTER on the device. 2. Bluetooth Manager then presents the list of services that it offers. Be sure to
select services like Modem or ActiveSync.
3. Then KeySoft will prompt you for the authentification code (see note 1). Type the authentification code on your BrailleNote.
4. After few moments your laptop will popup and prompt you to enter the
authentification code. Type the exact code that you've typed on your BrailleNote. After few seconds KeySoft will announce that it is
paired and active.
5. On your computer, press JAWS key plus Fbled to shut down JAWS. Press enter on the dialog. 6. Now on your BrailleNote, go to Main Menu and select Terminal for Screen Reader. At the
port prompt, select Bluetooth.
7. On your laptop, press Windows plus R; then type
jaws) without spaces. Then the display will present what is displayed on the screen.
Notes:
Note 1: In Bluetooth communication, an
authentification code is a password that allows two Bluetooth devices to talk to each
other. If we put the scenario in the dialog
form, here's what you'll see:
BrailleNote: Hi. My name is BrailleNote.
Computer: My name is laptop. Nice to meet you.
BrailleNote: I've heard that you wanted to
share something with me.
Computer: Yes, I am.
BrailleNote: But I'm not sure whether you are the intended computer that I want to talk to. I need a proof. I'll give you a code and if
you give me the exact code that I gave you, then we can talk further.
Computer: Okay. Send it to me.
If the connection was successful, the result
will be:
Computer: There!
BrailleNote: Thanks!
If it fails, the result will be:
Computer: There!
BrailleNote: I'm sorry, but it seems that one of your letters does not match. Sorry but I
cannot talk to you right now.
Computer: That's okay. Maybe next time.
That's how the authentification code works.
My answer to your original question: there
is a file called jfw.ini that controls how
jaws behaves at startup. DO NOT EDIT IT
YOURSELF!! The information that you are looking for is the port number which you can change it to Com 6.
I hope this information may help you.
