Hi,
My friend just turned me on to a way to build a playlist very easily on the PC using JAWS 7.10. Since I store my music on a cf card and have a card reader, what I do is this: 1. In My Computer, navigate to the drive that corresponds to my CF card and get into the folder containing the songs. 2. Virtualize the window by pressing ctrl+insert+w. This puts the file listing in the Virtual Viewer.
3. Highlight the songs that I want and copy them to the clipboard.
4. Open Notepad and paste in the contents of the clipboard.
5. Save the text file as a .m3u file.

I tested it and it works great, as long as the playlist is saved to the same folder where the songs are found. I ran into trouble when I tried to put in path references on each line, as in:

\compactflash\beatles revolver\taxman.mp3
\compactflash\beatles revolver\and your bird can sing.mp3

and so on.

The media player kept claiming that it couldn't find the file(s), and what was really weird was that it mentioned double backslashes, when I knew damn good and well that there were no double backslashes in the file paths. Go figure. Guess my syntax is screwed up. Hmmm.

Tom

Has anyone figured out a way to compose a playlist without having to type all of the song titles that you want played?

Richard

I ain't as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I ever was.
