In the system devices, printer and lp ports I am getting lots of bluetooth
ports and they are called serial ports; they are called as in, jaws reads
them as bluetooth serial port.

Is the com4 port Bluetooth or is it serial? (I don't myself know if a
previous version of JAWS will drive a braille display by Bluetooth.)

Floor.
I am getting comp 4 as one of the bluetooth serial ports. There won't be
any
need to work with the INI file. Only if these two guys were ready to
recognise each other and then get paired.
I don't have any other bluetooth device to check if the fault is with
bluetooth in my BN unit.
Regards

His choices are: If using JAWS7.0 download 7.10; or, in any case, he can
indeed edit the jfw.ini file. However, it's necessary first to install
the
brailleNote on one of the recognised com ports, even if it's not connected
thereto. Then that com port number (for the brailleNote) may be changed
in
jfw.ini. (I've done it before, so I know. JAWS thereafter will work with
the BrailleNote device set to com port 8, or whichever.) Now if only my
last computer could have waited until I'd installed JAWS7.10 before dying!
