Hello,
This was not the case, I have used my passport for about a year now, and I know how long it takes to recognize, this was not the issue. The issue was that no matter what reset I did, it would not recognize the drive. The only way I was able to get it to recognize, was for me to delete the Keysoft. ksaid file and then do a reset, and once I did that, it came up and all was well. I don't know why this happened, but it was pretty scary until I realized with my laptop, that it was not the drive. I have over 20 gb of files on this drive, so when it did not show, it was making me nervous.
Anyways, all is good now with the drive.

Hello Robert,
When I plug my 80 GB Western Digital Passport drive into my
mPOwered
VoiceNote, it takes a minute or more for it to be recognized,
regardless
of which KeySoft version I have tried it on. Have you tried just
sitting
back a minute or so to see if it eventually comes up? Also, I
know there
is a size limitation above which you need to use the external
power cube
on your Passport because the note taker usb ports don't have
enough
current capacity to run the drives. I'm thinking this size
limitation
comes in at or above 120 MB Passport drives but someone with more
knowledge than me might correct or confirm this thought.

   Hello,
It seems as if it is only me who cannot use the passport
drive.
So, I wouldn't say not to upgrade because this is the only
problem I have with the upgrade, and as I say, others seem to
be
able to use their passport drive, so it must be a glitch with
my
   unit.
   Hope this helps,
