Hi, This was a maintanence release for French KeySoft 6.2, I think.
I remember when the Mpower units first came out in July, Jonathan Mosen said that there was going to be a 6.3 release which would fix a few bugs in the classic and PK, and bring the versions in line. When I asked about it in September I was told that KS 6.3 wasn't going to be an English version and not to worry about it. I assume all the fixing was done in 7 although looking back it was more changing than fixing, and little things at that (changing "Storage Card" to "PC Card", "Card Inserted and Card Removed" altered, etc)). If you run a bin file designed for a specific unit on another unit (E.G., designed for MPower, ran on Classic), it will fail and yes, most likely lock-up your machine. This is probably because a reset with 4-5 turns KeySoft off, as it were, and so there's very little error checking. Obviously, if it can't read the bin file, it'll output an error, but as far as the update is concerned if it can successfully extract the bin file the upgrade was successful. Only when it resets the unit, then, will it fail because it's trying to run incompatible software. I don't see why you couldn't just put the correct bin on the card and do reset with 4-5 again, though... anyone more technical than myself, could you shed some light?
