Joleen, Before we start this discussion, we need to discuss the differences between WinCE 2.12 and4.2. Due to the differences between these two operating system, the KLT file that was created in KeySoft 5.x or lower won't work. Yo can actually compose a new KL definition file. Same goes to KB file. There is no major differences between KLT and KBS, but KBS is suited better when using database software.

I received information from HW for building a custom keylist file. It has worked beautifully except that it did not update with switch to KS 6.11. I had to enter the data by hand again. Now, I want to learn about using this file that I created vs creating a key base file. Here is a list of the things I would like it to do with my guess as to the best option in parenthesis. 1. I would like to create groups and send e-mail from my custom data. (Currently Keylist does this, but I don't know if I would lose this feature by creating a file in Keybase. I don't know how to get to the e-mail field in a Keybase file from Keymail.) 2. I would like to import and export to-from other file types such as Excel so that I can share the membership information with other officers in the group. (Currently, I have created several Keylist templates and feel I could create a comma-delimited template for export from the Keylist data. There does not seem to be an option for importing data in Keylist as there seems to be in Keybase, though.) 3. I have the option of creating several different field types in the Keylist version, more than are offered when creating a new Keybase definition file. Are there others that are not listed?) 4. I would like to understand the difference between Keylist and Keybase file types as both are technically a database type of file structure, or so it seems to me. Thanks for any help in giving me greater understanding of the relationship between these BN programs.
