rights. its a simtec thing and it does absolutely nothing. it says please wait but never does anything more

It's only a hypothesis at this point - there is more than one reason why devices aren't recognised.

If you get a message saying something like "Card not Recognised", I'd think it was for two reasons: 1. It is not formatted correctly - try formatting with FAT instead of FAT32 or NTFS.
2.  It requires a specific driver which the BN does not have.

If it just sits there, though, and does nothing, then it probably has got something to do with transfer speed.

I reiterate, though, that this is just hypothesis - I really have no clue about this sort of thing, and all this is based on
personal experience.
