Hi Terry,

Like in other places in KeySoft, such as text documents, the Braille
display reads in your preferred reading grade, but if you place the
cursor
on a word, that word is then displayed in computer Braille and you can
read its textual spelling on the Braille display, move the cursor
through
it character by character to hear each character, or press the "read
current word" command twice to hear the textual spelling.

Cheers

Jonathan

Hi Jonathan;
This seams a little illogical. Are you saying if I look up the word
receive and see it in grade 2, there is no way I can read the whole
letter by letter, like you can in Jaws. Cann't you arrow through the
word and have it come up letter by letter. How will someone going to
know the correct spelling of this word if he does not know the
contraction. RCV does not let you know it is ei or ie in the word.
If this is actually true, something needs to be done in the next
release.
Thanks.
Terry Powers

Hi Cindy,

The Oxford dictionary reads in the grade you have set in the Braille
Display Options as your Preferred Reading Grade. If this is set to
grade
1, then the dictionary will read in grade 1. Underneath, the dictionary

is stored as text, so when you read the Braille display you read this
text
translated by Duxbury into your preferred reading grade.

Regards

Jonathan Sharp

Mary Ellen or others,

Is the dictionary limited to grade two?

I prefer to see dictionary spellings in grade one and wondered if I
would
be
able to use the cursor routing buttons to change a word to grade one or
if
the dictionary was formatted as a grade two document as opposed to text.

Cindy

Thank you very much Mary Ellen. That is what I thought. It
sounds great. I may have to look at it once I upgrade to 7.2.

Take care.
