Hi,

Yes, that's correct.

"Are there significant differences in the feature list from 6.2 to 7.2?"

Yes, there are. You don't really need to worry about this, though - if you buy
a new unit you will get KeySoft 7.2 (or whatever the
latest version is) automatically. I have included the new features list here,
however, but they are in no particular order:

* The scientific calculator has Fractions and Statistical Functions

* The Book Reader can now play DAISY Books

* Eloquence Speech is available on MPower units

* There is a built-in FM radio on MPower units

* You are now able to record on the PK units (you were only able to record on
MPower until release of KeySoft 7)

* There is now a DataBase manager

* You are now able to play ZCode Text Adventure Games (I.E. Text Adventure
games with file extentions such as .z3, .z5 and .z8)

* Remote Synthesizer, Braille Terminal and Visual display can now use Bluetooth

* You are now able to sort files by Date Last Modified, Size and Type in
adition to sorting by name (old behaviour)

* You are now able to copy a folder

* You are now able to mark a set of files and act on that whole set rather than
acting on each file indevidually

* A number of commands have been introduced to speed up file menipulation

* You are now able to create E-mail signatures

"I will be evaluating both of these units tomorrow for purchase. It is my goal
to communicate with as many users of the product as I
can to learn the answers to the following questions:"
It is a good idea to communicate with users, but at the end of the day it is
your purchase, and it is very important that you are
happy with what you buy. What I am saying is, quite simply, don't act purely
on other user's advice.

"1. Have you owned a BrailleNote PK and then upgraded to an Empower?"
No, I have never owned a PK. I owned a classic, however. I don't think
"upgrade" is the correct word to use here, though - the PK
and the MPower are two separate products for two different markets. Maybe the
word "exchanged" would be better.

"2. Why do you like the Empower's feature list over the PK?"
It's a broad question. The MPower has more features and, in my opinion, is
suited more for people who are going to use it every day
to undertake several of their daily tasks. The PK is suited more for people
that want to be able to take notes and keep track of
their schedules, E-mails, etc. while away, and transfer this data back to their
PC when they get home. I use an MPower in school
because I need to be able to emboss and print my work and the PK does not allow
me to do this. Also, many of my school teachers
save work onto a USB pen drive: the MPower can work with these, the PK cannot.
Finally, my MPower has a 32 cell Braille display,
and if a PK had a longer display it would defeat the object of it being
pocket-sized.

"3. Now that you have used both devices, do you wish your Empower had some
feature that you miss on the PK?"
I don't think there are any features on the PK which are not present on the
MPower. It would be nice to have the PK's internal
microphone in the MPower - when I briefly compared the two at Sight Village the
PK sounded much better. Apart from that I can't
think of anything.

I hope this helps,
Matthew
