Chris, Before you pair the devices, you need to enter a code called Authentication Code. Does your laptop have any Bluetooth services like Modem or activeSync enabled? When you select your laptop from the device list, a list appears with the availible services the laptop offers (they are activeSync, Modem, Object Exchange (unsupported), and Printer). Select any services that are supported (I prefer activeSync service). Press enter and say yes to activate it, and then enter the code on your brailleNote (the same code must be typed on your laptop as well). After that bn should say "active" after the service name. the next time you connect using Bluetooth, a bubble will appear on your laptop asking whether you want to "authorize" BN to connect in the future (this allows you to connect to your laptop without having to type the authorization code manually). Say y yes on your laptop. Then you can truly use Bluetooth. I hope this information may help you.

Ok, I scrounged a USB adapted blue tooth dongle for my laptop. I turned on blue tooth connectivity from the BrailleNote connectivity menu. I searched for blue tooth devices and found my laptop. I successfully paired them in the BrailleNote. I ran the blue tooth device wizard on the laptop, found the BrailleNote and filled in the necessary data. I activated the pairing on the BrailleNote by hitting a at the remove pairing or activate prompt. So, why does the laptop not acknowledge the pairing, and why does the braille terminal part of KeySoft not recognize that there are any blue tooth devices?
