The meaning for CAP is in the message below. This meaning is in regards
to the Federal Government. There is another program, by the same 3
letters for students. I am almost sure it has a different meaning. I
know nothing about the student program, but NFB might.
The program for the Federal Government assists in buying equipment and
training for Federal employees. A Federal agency has to be accepted
under the CAP program befor a handicapped person can get assistance.
NIH, where I work, had to wait about 2 years for acceptance into the
program. The person that helps me with computer needs took care of the
process so I do not know anything about the procedure, but it is long
and drawn out. We applied since our budget was on a down fall.
Hope this helps. Looks to me like they just left the E out in the
acranim. Makes it easier to say.

Terry Powers

I think you are talking about testing a Braille keyboard. CAP ordered
the Focus 80 Braille Display from Freedom scientific.

 Hi Mark,
Yes, please proceed with everything --- scanner, training, Braille
display. I have to get Terry to Baltimore to test the Braille displays
before we can settle on which model to purchase. Thanks, Mary Cusano

Hi Mary,

The original request only had a scanner and Braille display. See below.
The training strictly referred to the scanner. Since a scanner alone is
not assistive technology I included OpenBook. The training we can
provide is for the OpenBook and the Braille display. I can offer 2 to 4
hours of training for these two items. Let me know if you want me to
proceed with this training request.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

Thanks
