Cindy, I neglected to answer your query about whether receiving
an upgrade on an SD card would be voided if you downloaded it
before receiving the card. It didn't for me with version 7. I
finally gave up on getting the card, and downloaded it, with dial
up. The card did eventually show up, about two months after the
new version came out.

I'm not sure if downloading an upgrade inhibits you receiving it
on SD card or not. Probably best to call Humanware Customer
Service and ask.
I do know they were trying to phase out card SMA as they have
found downloading is the way to go for most people.
However if you don't have high speed Internet you can be looking
at a several hour download to get nk.bin.
