Dear Eugene:
First of all, I'm going to send this to you, then I'll give an
explanation.
BT Commands
1. Open the E-mail or any other document you want to save.
2. Press S chord. You'll see "document has not been modified."
3. Press Backspace twice to get to the "drive" prompt.
4. Press your letter for the Drive you want.
5. Select the folder for the file.
6. At the "file name" prompt, you will see "computer Braille is
required."
7. At this point, press Backspace with X to select your document
type.
8. If you select KeyWord, you can write the file type in grade
two. (You will be pressing Backspace with X about 10 times to
get it to that point.
9. For BT users, if you select Ascii, or other text document
types, you'll need to write in computer Braille. Press Enter.
10. You'll see "open document after saving?" Press Y for yes.
11. If it was an E-mail you opened, you will be returned to your
E-mail.
Generally, I save everything as a brf. The file names are in
computer Braille, but the inside is always in grade two. You can
press your cursor, and it will be grade two.
You asked about Microsoft. If you save as that type of document,
even though you read it in grade two, when you press the cursor,
it goes back to Computer Braille, because it is a text document.
As for email, if it is something you want to save, I would follow
the steps I gave you, and save your email on a card. That way,
they will always be in grade two Braille.
When reading an email, you see those signs you mentioned, because
it is a notation that Computer Braille is coming.
If I can help you translate, or help you further, I'll be glad to
do what I can.
Kind regards,

TEXT?
Hi Ronda,
It's not that you're doing a poor job, it's me, not you. I
won't rant about computer braille but it is driving me crazy the
way it interferes when I try to edit. When I write an email,
like I am right now, there it is at the end of my email just
waiting to give me trouble.
You've given me a great deal of information since I've joined
the BrailleList which has helped me considerably and I can't tell
you how apreciative I am for your efforts. In saving emails to
my compactflash card the question I asked was, when I've
forgotten to translate my document, which I have a couple of
times, and continue on to save it in a folder, is there a way to
back track so that I can translate it properly? also, is
microsoft word a translation that most people can read? And, how
do I get rid of this "edg0" (dollar sign g zero), which pops up
out of nowhere and starts changing my written work to a jumble
of garbage.
Thank you.
Eugenio

Eugene, I think I am doing a poor job here. If you write in a
brf format on the BN, it will always be seen in grade two
Braille, even pressing the cursor. Keyword, Braille document
will do the same thing, though computers don't read it well. I'm
not sure which part of your question I'm leaving out.

Hi everyone, I wrote:
I despise "computerararar braille". I can't tell you how much
I abhor reading or writing
it! When I
try to press a "touch cursor" in editing a document in
"computer
braille",
the lines of text actually jump and I have to go looking for
the
word that
I tried to edit. I'm writing in grade 2 sometimes and all of a
sudden I
want to edit something and "computer braille" raises its ugly
head. The
jumping of lines even happens with grade 2 but not nearly as
often. Can
someone tell me what's going on?
Also, is there a way that I can translate a document to another
type once it is installed in a folder? If so, please tell me how.
Eugenio
