The advantage of using 8.5 by 11 paper is you can buy it from any store
which carries heavy paper which is known as "card stock." It's nice being
able to get paper locally instead of having to send away for it.
I used to use the large size and it's probably best for embossing books, but
the smaller size is easier to handle. The large size isn't standard so you
always have to order it from one of the specialty stores for the blind.

I like the Et, it is fast, and does have really nice braille. Plus it is
the smaller paper size which is better in my opinion as it is more easier
for the waitresses to carry, and easy for the person to handle at
thetable.
was a print user for many years and just can't learn to like huge braille
paper.

If I were buying a new Braille Embosser, I'd get the Romeo RB50 pro by
Enabling Technologies. It is easy to configure for both parallel and
serial
ports. It has good braille on the finished product. It is only a single
sided embosser. You can read about it by going to:
http://www.brailler.com. If you need a interpoint embosser, the ET is
probably the lowest cost for this type of embosser. It has good braille.
I
think some of their newer embossers have USB ports so check on that as
well.
This is important to some extent when using an M-power. Please feel free
to
write me privately if I can be of further help.

Subject: [Braillenote] Embosser Choice
Hi listers. I am thinking of starting a business for transcribing
Braille menus and possibly Braille business cards and the like. I
currently have a BrailleNote Classic but will be upgrading to an Mpower
shortly.
For such an undertaking, what would be the best choice of embosser?
Should I stick to one which only embosses a4 size paper? How would you
Braille readers like to have menus set out, in compact a4, or on the
bigger paper? I also need to take into consideration that I'll probably
be working from home so size and cost will be an issue. Any ideas would
be most welcome.
A merry Christmas to you all
