Hi there,
There are a number of things to check:
1. Press FN plus o for Options, then READ with i for Support Info Mode.
2. Do the following:
(a) Press a. This should give the gauge accuracy. If it says that it is inaccurate, or if the gauge error is greater than 50%, then it is something wrong with the ba^tery. (b) Press c and d. The c value should increase when the battery is charging. At the end of charge, it should be same as d value. If the d value is greater than 2000 (on an 1800 battery) or 1750 (on a 1650 battery), then there might be a gauge error. If the value is lower than 1250 (on an 1800 battery) or 1100 (on a 1650 battery), then it is time for replacement. If the charge stops at something other than 100%, disconnect the charger for 5 minutes and reconnect it again. If these instructions does not work, while it is plugged in, press Reset with Record to perform Service Reset. If an error is given, then it is time to send the unit. Bare in mind that you need to reset the time and date and so on.
HTH,
Joseph

Subject: [Braillenote] BrailleNote repair

Hay, Gang, not meaning to sound like I'm
complaining, but. Well, I'm not
sure of what is going on here. it looks as
though they still haven't gotten
it fixed yet. After two tries.
But, maybe it's just a bad, new charger.
In late October I sent my B/N QT 32, into
the Concord center in
California, for a product upgrade of the
firmware. To correct a troublesome
battery calibration error, where it would
drop in charge percentage
drastically, and then die with no warning.
After receiving the machine back in mid
November with a new Power charger/
adapter, and being told not to use the old
charger. it still wasn't working
properly, so I sent it back again for
additional repair and they had it from
December 1 through, around the 22nd of
December.
after receiving it back, I have now run
down the battery and It still has
the same problem., I have tried to re charge
the battery with the new power
cord and it only charges to around 13
percent, using the new style charger.
I get an error message saying: "unable to
charge the battery after two
cycles" " please contact Human ware for
further assistance". I am now
using the old charger to see if there is a
difference, it looks promising.
If not ,or even if it does make a difference,
I will be back on the phone
Tomorrow morning bright and early.
If this is a problem with the new style
charger, and they didn't inspect
the new charger that I sent in with the B/N ,
the second time; then that
says a very troublesome message about their
quality assurance.
If anyone else is having this problem speak
up! Looking at the list, I
feel like this is just happening to me!
