Hi,
In the below post, I show Rhonda's procedure for using the 6682 as a modem
with the BN and setting up a connection. It seems that the error 635 was
due to an improperly entered phone number; I discovered this after checking
the connection again, having changed the device to internal modem. Once the
numbers were re-entered, I logged in using standard dialup and it worked
great.
However, after switching back to bluetooth, I no longer get error 635, but,
after accepting the connection request with the 6682, the call is attempted
and I hear three beep tones repeated three times, the tones being similar to
what you get when you call a disconnected number. Then I get a message that
says "no carrier" showing on the Braille display. . Hmmm. Any clues? I'm
probably missing something here but it seems that I might be getting closer
somehow.

Back on April 18 of last year, Rhonda Clark posted a procedure to the list
regarding using the BrailleNote to connect to a cell phone via bluetooth
and set up an Internet connection. Since I just upgraded to a Nokia 6682,
I decided to try this procedure out just for the heck of it. I followed
the procedure below and tried the connection, but I get an error 635 when
trying to get on the net. What's that error and how do I fix it? I like
the idea of getting everything working so that I have web access virtually
anywhere that I have phone coverage.

To connect via Bluetooth:
1. Turn on the Bluetooth feature on the phone
2. Under miscellaneous, set Active Sync to Bluetooth.
3. From the Main Menu, press O chord, C for Connectivity, and B for
Bluetooth.
4. Turn it on and say "yes" to search for devices.
5. Find your phone in the device list and press Enter.
6. BN will say list of services on device:
7. Space till you see "modem" and press Enter.
8. It will say "authentication code?"
9. Press Enter.
10. Your phone is paired and active.
11. Go to options, connectivity, create a new connection and press
Enter.
12. Name it and press Enter.
13. At modem type, press Space with dots 3-4 until you see your cell
phone and press Enter.
14. Enter in the phone number, user name, and pass word in the
appropriate fields.
15. Set dial tone to no and press Enter.
16. Press Space with E and answer yes to save.
