Hi all,

I was going to complain about this tagline. I was going to ask why it
is so long. However, I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes. I can't
help it. I just can't help it. It's a huge tagline, but I needed
the reminder.

These BrailleNotes we complain about, ask for modifications about,
praise and curse alternately are our gateway to freedom. It is
through the BrailleNote that the blind gain knowledge and by doing so,
become equals to their sighted fellows. So, to have Martin Luther
King's words quoted on the BrailleNote list isn't as off-topic as it
might seem. Thank you Humanware for being a part of our own
emansipation.

We've come a long way since 1963, and I don't imagine Kizzy was boarn
then, but she remembers, and because she remembers, the progress will
continue. We all can vote in the U.S. We all go to school, too,
all together. In South Africa, little children don't need to sing
"kaulesa Mama"! any more. We're making progress, but there are still
many who are oppressed. Only through access to information and
through education can things change. Thanks, Kizzy for
reminding me.

If this is off-topic, I'm sorry, but it is related to BrailleNotes, or
I think it is.

Ann P.

P.S., If anyone wants info on the South African song I quoted, and
probably spelled horribly, write me privately.

P.P.S., Kizzy, if you're going to quote Dr. King, you need to put his
name at the end of your quotation. You may want to shorten it after a
week or so, it is long, but wow, did it stop me in my tracks this
morning.
A.P.
