Hi Syndi, Alex and others. I have been at TAFE three years and, not
being that technically-minded, as far as the Internet is concerned, have
no idea if it's possible to connect to the TAFE (college of technical
and further education), network. I use wireless internet with a WIFI
card, but they don't use telephone lines. If I want to search the Net
or the TAFE intranet, I have to use a PC with Jaws, when using my BN
would be much simpler where possible.

Is there a way around this problem?

Cheers!

Michele

Sorry to jump in here, but the UMaine college system claims to
require any machine on their network to have Norton. However, I
was visiting my sister one day and took the settings off her
laptop, manually entered them into my BN, and was online with no
problem. I am not sure what security they have, but if all you
need is a good IP, DNS, default gateway, and subnet mask then I
have to wonder... The only problem is that if one of these four
is not recognized, you are out of luck.

Have a great day,
Alex
