Hi there, This usually means that it needs more power. USB only takes devices based on its power requirements. USB allows up to 500 milliamps of power. If the drive in question requires more, then Windows CE will refuse to pass the I/O request to usbmsc.dll driver, which results in errors like "card not recognized" and similar error. This means that it won't recognize the drive in question. This is common with malfunctioning drives. I would recommend that you plug it on your PC and see if Windows recognizes it. If it does, it should present Autoplay dialog. If it does not, then an error balloon will pop up. Do not worry about whether Windows CE supports this drive. Virtually all computers that supports USB supports this drive. Regards, Joseph

What does it mean if the drive is not recognized? Will the mPower reply "card not recognized" or just sit there? Humanware tech support tells me they use generic drivers for usb flash, but some, Most, even come with specific drivers of there own. I have not seen any that say they are compatible with windows ce.net, but only windows 95, 98, 98 SE, 2000, ME or XP. Why is this? I have just bought a drive and I want it to work, but the manufacturer claims it won't work on windows ce. Can someone help me? I suppose since the BN uses generic and not specific drivers to windows ce it may work, but I'm not sure. I know that the drive in question, a P Q I traveling disc model u236 4 gb, only requires 125 Milli-amps when writing, 130 when reading, and 0.5 when in stand by. The only problem is, the jump drive comes with software installed on it, an executible with software for the pc. Will someone tell me what the braillenote does to try to read the drive? Does it check the circuits, or is it dependant on the files on the drive. I'm not an electronics person so I have no idea how anyone can make a device that will work with one thing and not another from a hardware perspective. Please help me. _________________________________________________________________ Get Hilary Duff’s homepage with her photos, music, and more. http://celebrities.live.com ___ To leave the BrailleNote list, send a blank message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To view the list archives or change your preferences, visit http://list.humanware.com/mailman/listinfo/braillenote -- No virus found in this incoming message.
