Martin,
This feature is implemented already. This is called "hibernate mode" where
BN will enter standby mode after 10 minutes (this only happens if you are
using battery power).
In case of your second suggestion, are you refering to that"ding" hourly
announcement in BNS family?

Hello there,
May I suggest for the next version of Keysoft that there be an automatic
shut off after 5 or 10 minutes of inactivity?  I forgot to turn of my
Keynote PK and it was on all night.  
That or at least a reminder chime every so often to alert you to your
forgetfulness.
Also, an hourly chime would be neat too.
