They thought I had carpal tunnel and I started wairing a hand brace at
night. I also changed to a Braille display with a curvature and it
slowly went away. Try the stretching and taking breaks. If you start
noticing any pain, see a doctor right away. It can prevent surgery.

Hi Louise,

You can find a lot of information on the internet about carpal
tunnel syndrome and repetitive motion problems like you are
describing. The most important thing is to take a break every 15
minutes or so while you are brailling and do some stretching or
other exercises to relax your hands, arms, shoulders, and back.
Get up and walk around if you can. Raise your hands up over your
head , shake your arms at your sides, open and close your hands a
few times. All these things can be done in a matter of a minute
or two and I think you will notice a difference in how your
hands feel at the end of the day. You might try a wrist support
brace which you can find at mmost drug stores. If the problem
persists or gets worse, you might want to speak with a Doctor or
chiropractor about it.

Hope that helps some.

Nikki B.
