Martin,
Actually, Andy wrote about this. I don't
have his message, but he's words were:
"We need to move to a different operating
system." - possibly Windows CE 5.0.
He also said that too many files sometimes
slows down BrailleNote (the boundary is
around 1000 files). According to him,
because of this, KeySoft has trouble handling
this massive number of files.
Cheers,
Joseph

Hmm, and at what point of this procedure do
we juggle fire and fight off
lions? hehehe Just kidding. That's quite a
process you have there.
Kudos, on figuring it out. That's definitely
a bug HW should address.

Subject: [Braillenote] Suggestion for bug
fix and sd card issue fixed
Hello list members. I emailed the list two
hours ago about an sd card
issue. I've figured out a way to go around
the issue, but it is a bit
time consuming. For some odd reason, on
larger than one gig cards, the
brailleNote has an issue with seeing mp3's
copied from a pc, either via
activeSync or card reader. I have a
solution. If you have another sd
card, compactflash card or pc card that you
can use, use a card reader
to transfer the files onto a smaller card
(max size is one gb) to
transfer the files onto the other card as
follows:
1. transfer the files from the pc to the
smaller card via activeSync or
card reader.
2. Insert the smaller card into the
BrailleNote and copy them onto your
flash disc.
3. Insert the larger card and copy them
from the flash disc to the
larger card.
4. Delete the files from the smaller card
so it can hold more
mp3/wma/etc. For some odd reason, books,
documents, and other files do
not require this on a large card, only
mp3's. Will someone please CC
someone at humanware with a request to fix
this issue in the next
version? It is an issue of drivers, not
hardware, this much I know.
Thanks:
Kendell
