Les;
Can this phone also be used by itself? I do not want to depend
on my
M-power to proform every transaction. I want one handy to call
at any
time and if possible, to work with the bn for internet.

Hi Mary Ellen,

Joseph is correct in what he stated. You do have to set up the
port on
the
BrailleNote and pair the devices. There are about 16 steps, but
they
are
detailed by Code Factory. Once it's set up, you can input
braille, as
well
as receiving braille output in Grade 1 or 2 and control the
mobile
device
from the BN's keyboard. I haven't done this yet, as I'm about to
purchase a
PDA/phone, and then I will set about getting this to work. I've
heard
it
demoed, and it's quite impressive. You get speech from the
mobile
device
and braille on the display with automatic translation into Grade
II when
you
hit space after completing a word or pressing the Enter key.

Subject: [Braillenote] Humanware's Announcement:

Hi folks!
Just finished reading Humanware's announcement regarding the
mpower's
ability to be an interface for windows mobile products. Does
this just
mean
that with a patch we can install drivers to turn the Braille
Display in
to a
display for cell phones running Mobile Speak and pda's running
Mobile
Speak
Pocket?
How exactly does this work?
Mega thanks in advance as always,
Mary Ellen Earls
