I'm not trying to tell you which way to go, but I think the
BrailleConnect, another display from Humanware, has the stuff for
braille input. Check that out too. Good luck, Jose, with your
decision.

Hello:

Question. I'd like to know how people who have M-powers and Mobile Speak
Pocket feel about using them together.. I recently bought a Cingular 8525
and am testing MSP on it. So far, I love it! The next step of course, is to
get a braille display. So I have two choices. I can either get this braille
note I have transplanted for $2500 max, or I can buy an independent display,
most likely for more.
I'm having trouble deciding which one to go with. Obviously, transplanting
the braille note will give me more cells for far less money. But then what
about the onboard apps in the BN? They'd kind of go to waste. I'm also
speculating here, but I don't suppose Keysoft 7.2 can support Pocket Word
.pwi files, or can it? Maybe in Keysoft 8 or later, but that means more
money.
The independent display seems to make more sense to me. But I like the
idea of a display/braille keyboard for both input and output. Unfortunately,
the other choices are between $3700 to $6000. I won't accept anything under
32 cells. I like the idea of the braillino, but 20 cells for $4200? Come on!
The BN 18 at least gives you a more well-rounded note taking solution for
about the same price. The brailliant from HW is supported of course, But I
asked tech support and they told me that it doesn't have a keyboard.
I digress. For those who already have an M-power and MSP, how do you use
the M-power in conjunction with your PDA. For example, Vicky Collins. You
have the 8125. Do you still use any of the BN's notetaking apps, or do you
use it exclusively in terminal mode?
Ultimately, I'm taking my time with this decision, because then i gotta
find a way to raise the money. So any advice you guys can give me is well
appreciated.
