You don't need ActiveSync. I get along just fine without it.
The only thing I don't know is how well the BN would read a Word 2007
document. But since I don't use Word, I won't worry about that, either.

you can install updates to KeySoft directly on the
BrailleNote without ActiveSync, do you really need
ActiveSync at all to use the BrailleNote? I know

the PACmate that you do or else you will lose the
data
you have on it, but with the BrailleNote I don't
think
that's the case.
