Computer braille is a code of braille designed to accommodate
symbols like
backslash, greater-than, less-than, the at sign and other signs
which don't
have a Grade II braille translation. An email address or an URL
for a web
site will only appear correct when they are written in computer
braille and
they won't sound right when you listen with speech unless they
are written
in computer braille.

Subject: [Braillenote] Computer braille

Good evening everyone,

I am really going to show my ignorance with this question but oh
well. I
have spent the last couple of years learning braille and am now
fairly
competant though not very quick with grade 2. My question is
this. What
exactly does the BN mean by "computer braille"? I do understand
the
various symbols used in reference to computer terms and the
internet. I
don't really understand what it means to enter things in
computer braille
though. Since I use a QT keyboard, I know this isn't something
I am
really affected by but I just would like to understand it.
Thanks to
anyone who would care to explain this to me. You are welcom to
e-mail me
privately at [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Sincerely,
Nikki B.
