I was not offended by your sending your message to me
personally. Nor did I intend to offend you with my message about
forwarding yours to the list. I forwarded your message because I
thought that what you said was worth reading by more people on
the list than just me. Although they may be a waste of many
people's time, I would rather get personal messages and those
without a subject change on the list than to not get the answers
to questions, suggestions, and comments at all. These replies
made by listers about their Humanware products or any devices
which can be used with them are what I learn from most of the
time.
I learned, from Kathy Davis, where I can purchase CF and SD
cards relatively cheap because she sent her reply to a question
to the list. I've learned many things from Richard ring (and
another Richard whose last name I don't know), from Sarah
Cranston before she left the list, from Rhonda Clark, Joseph Lee,
and many, many other listers too numerous to name. From replies
on this list, I've learned that I can actually check sites on the
internet, to see whether information I have received is valid or
just a scam (thank you Ann Parson). I've learned how to download
books from the NLS when it's working, and even how to get the
scores of football games I didn't get to see. I learned how to
back-up my files and folders and how to move them from drive to
drive or folder to folder. And, I learned much of this by
reading the list. I'm not good at moving between the manual and
what I'm trying to do, and this list explains many of the
problems I have deciphering the manual's instructions. There are
a myriad of things to be learned from this list and these things
CANNOT be learned if the questions are answered only to the
questioner. Again, I had no intention of offending you, And
think I would be offended if you left the list and I lost your
in-put to it.
My comment about the delete key meant that if anyone posted
anything to the list that I didn't want to read, I knew how to
get rid of it and was no reflection on anyone's intelligence.
I've created a folder on my CF card called "Tutorial From The Bn
List" where I've saved anything that has helped me -- whether or
not I was the questioner. Sometimes questions are asked and
answered which help me immensely but I would never have asked the
question because either I didn't know how to pose it or I felt
pretty silly asking a question that most of the teenagers on the
list already knew the answer to. I have responded to people
off-list before, but usually I was repeating something that had
already been on the list and I had in my tutorial folder. I've
read the comment, "THIS was discussed on the list before." which
to me was not an answer, so I pulled the answer from my folder
and sent it off-list. However, I still believe that I should
have the option of forwarding a message to the questioner or
replying directly to the list without having to fiddle with the
list to do so.
Please accept my apology if I have offended you, and PLEASE,
please don't leave the list because of anything I've said.

Sorry about sending that only to you. It was meant for the list
and only
happened because of the change with the listserv.
I personally know how to delete messages as you do and preferred
it the
other way. There were many times that I learned things from
reading other
people's questions and the answers they received.
Thank you for forwarding this back to the list. In the future, I
will
probably not reply to any messages on this list because of having
to worry
about sending them to the sender only instead of the list and I
do not want
to offend anyone because of a comment meant for the list that
only went to
them and seemed like it was directed at them.
In the near future, I may unsubscribe from the list. I am on
this list to
learn from what others say and if we never hear the answers then
it is a
waste of my time.
