Hi Rob,

I agree with the things already said by Martin. In addition, the PK does
also have an all purpose serial port, which allows such things as ActiveSync
and being used as a Braille display for your computer. But, note that you
are not able to print documents from your PK, as you are able to do with the
mPower.

As for the size comparison, the Braille n Speak and PK both weigh about a
pound, while either the 18 or 32 cell mPower are going to weigh over two
pounds, with the 18 cell weighing less of course. The PK is the smaller of
the units, with its dimensions being 17.4cm x 9.2cm x 3.2cm/6.8" x 3.6" x
1.3" The Braille n Speak is kind of in the middle with its being 8 inches
by 5 inches by 1.25 inches.
And, finally, the mPower is the largest with all the BT and QT Braille
models being 25cm x 15.5cm x 5cm/9.9" x 6.1" x 2" Note that these dimensions
were taken directly from the products respective web sites.

Subject: [Braillenote] mPower Versus PK - what you can and can't do

I've noticed some people say they have BOTH an mPower
and PK so i'm turning to you for help with this. From
MY understanding here's what I've gathered about the
mPower and PK as to what you can and can't do: With
the mPower you can use an FM radio, have an option of
Eloquence or KeyNote Gold speech, have the option to
use off the shelf USB peripherals (such as flash
drives etc.), have expansive storage via CF, USB, and
PC card slots, allow for USB connection between your
PC and the BrailleNote for a terminal mode, AS WELL AS
bluetooth. All those things I've just listed, as far
as I know can NOT be performed with the PK. Am I
right? Also how much bulkier is the BrailleNote mPower
when compared to my 1993 Braille 'n Speak? My only
real true keep-interest for the PK is it's size, but
that's about it.
