From what I recall of Humanware's usual pattern, they make an announcement
of the features available inh an upgrade, and within a few weeks of the announcement the upgrade is made available. If there was a longer cycle between the announcement and the release of the upgrade to customers, this would tip off their competitors of impending features, giving them more of a reaction time to ensure their products were similarly competitive or innovative.

If memory serves, when the mPower was introduced, there was no announcement to customers ahead of time. Perhaps Humanware didn't want to announce it until it was already shipping, thereby giving no reaction time to competitors and achieving a greater impact. It's possible that blindness technology insiders were aware of Humanware's new product prior to their announcement, but I doubt many outside of the industry were aware of it until the mPower became available.

This may not b Humanmware's specifric rationale, but it would make sense.

Hi Sharon,
Yes, it has been mentioned by JoAnn Becker, but I don't know when it will be released nor new features in it.
Cheers,
Joseph

Subject: [Braillenote] CSUN and 8.0

Hi List and Joseph
 Joseph, we read that you attended the CSUN
conference.  Do you
know when 8.0 is coming out? What about the
features? Will we be
able to read E. audio books without special
equipment?
 Thanks in advance for your help.
 Yesterday's gone, today's a gift;
tomorrow's not ours,
Please enjoy the Present.
