Well, I sure don't want to answer for all cards and drives; however, when using the Sandisk WiFi and CF card that you're talking about, I never did format either of mine. I used my first one on the PAC Mate when I had one, and then later on my mPower and PK. I'm on the second card, using it with the mPower and PK, as the first one I had went bad after almost two years.
Also, if one were to format that particular card, I'm wondering if they would do something to hurt the WiFi part. I don't know that they would, seeing as the drivers for that card are built into the PK and mPower, but I just don't think I would want to take the chance, anyway. Now, I'm guessing you had all file types showing when you checked your CF card? And, too, I'm guessing that you checked by looking for folders as well as directories? Hello everyone, Should storage cards or hard drives be reformatted before using them? I recently bought the Sandisk WIFI Connect. I didn't format the card before putting files on it. I ended up losing the files that I had saved on it. Any thoughts or feedback on formatting would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time. Peace, BC Rich Guitars and KISS.
