It is supposed to be 500 milliamps when combined - this is rather
by design. The maximum power that a USB port can supply is 500
milliamps. This, of course, requires that the device requests to
use more power. By default, when devices are connected, it
originally uses 100 milliamps. Then the device in question asks
Windows CE if it can switch to high power mode. Depending on
device type, CE will either accept it or deny it. If it acceps
it, the USB port will then use maximum of 500 milliamps. If not,
the device will still use 100 mikliamps (see my USB tutorial for
further details).
