Hi Keith:

I'm sure all of what you are doing is correct, but I always check to see that nothing is being left out. If these steps don't work, could it be that the cards are protected?

If you wish to format your SD card, remember that all current data will be erased in doing so.

1. From the Main Menu, press U.

2. Press A.

3. At the "run program from which drive" prompt, press K for Keysoft.

4. You will see "directory name"? I generally press T chord (Ctrl T) so that I can see the folder mode, though some people don't.

5. Go down to the Windows folder, and press Enter.

6. Press Space once to get to the "list of files" prompt.

7. Press the letter P twice, so that you see "prepare SD card.

8. Press Enter. You will receive the warning that any information on your card will be lost, and you will be asked if you are sure you want to proceed.

9. Press Y. Follow the prompts. You will be returned back to the Utilities Menu.

Subject: [Braillenote] Formatting an SD Card

I have a coworker who is attempting to format a 128 MB SD card in
order
to download an upgrade from Keysoft 6.2 to 7.2 for his BN mPower.
When
he tried to reformat the card, following all the instructions
correctly,
he gets an error message that says the card cannot be formatted
and that
he is to make sure it is inserted into the slot correctly. He
can read
the files on the card, so we know it is inserted in the right
way. He
has tried with two SD cards with the same result.

Any ideas as to what is going on?
