Hi folks, thanks for your suggestions! I don't understand anything about the internal mechanics of the display so I'll just ask a few more questions.
first off, I really can't afford to send it in right now because I'm in the middle of teaching a semester. f I have to, I will, but . . . anyway, if it is hardware related, why would it have displayed fine as it was starting up, but then when it got in to keysoft the display would have stopped. Generally, if a computer displays fine, then the monitor poops out when windows starts, it's all about a driver. Also, when I exercise the display, it seems nearly perfect. the only anomaly is that after the first time that it raises all the dots simultaneously, when they drop, along with the three dots that generally display at intervals in the display, one dot displays in the first cell. but the display seems to exercise just fine.
