Hi, Brian,
I live in a condominium complex. There are four units in each
building. The two townhouses are side by side. I live in one of them.
A carriage unit is above the garages, and a ranch unit is off to the
side and joins the far side of the garages. I can pick up my
nighbor's Linksys router at least nwear the wall that we share. I
have never attempted toget on it though.

Hi Evelyn:
I think you can choose WEP 64 for network security. It isn't as
good as WEP 128 but beats leaving the network open.
You may not have a lot of problems with snoopers on your network.
Figure the wireless signal may travel 300 feet in every direction
from where the router is located.
If you are in a house on a 50 foot wide lot, that isn't the whole
neighbourhood.
However if you are in an apartment, it may be the whole building
and give a good signal into neighbouring buildings.
A lot depends upon the sort of people in the neighbourhood you
live in.
Take care.
Brian
