Most of the people who distribute assistive tech who I know, got into it
without a program like Arkansas. They are users first, and tend to
distribute things they use. You should have a good grounding in
computers, the ability to solve problems, a great deal of patience, and
although sales are important, you should plan on doing a lot of training
of new users. Good presentation skills, speaking skills, ability to
travel, develop creative solutions, and a thick skin are definite
assets.
No I don't distribute technology. I do classes for teachers, and work
with a lot of them. Of those I know who survive, these are some of the
things they have in common.

I was just reading about the opportunities available for becomeing a
distributor with HumanWare. I have always wanted to know what
qualifications one has to have in order to become a distributor of
assistive technology. Is the facility in Arkansas the only place where
this is done or does anyone know of another place?
