Hi John and All,

Thanks much for the info about a possible fix. Although, as with a lot of
others, I really don't plan to change my service, either. I do have cell
phones that I can use instead, can even use them with the BN Braille display
and Mobile Speak Pocket, but I much prefer email on the BN.

As for HumanWare addressing this issue, I'd be willing to bet that they are
indeed looking into things. However, as this topic has been around for over
a week now and involves lots of folks, I can't help but be a bit surprised
that HW hasn't at least tentatively addressed the issue on this list.

Actually, speaking of this list, HW has been pretty much absent from this
list for months now. I'm not sure if HW no longer wishes to
actively participate on the list as they did for say six years or so, or if
they no longer have the
staffing to do so--although, seeing as GW Micro is a smaller company and
actively communicates with their end users via their email list, I would
suspect it to be the former. And, of course that would be HW's choice, but,
what with Jonathan Mosen leaving, not to mention the death of Dean Jackson,
the timing of HW's decision sure wouldn't seem to do much to reassure
customers who frequent, or in many cases now as it would appear from their
lack of postings, who did frequent this
list.

Hello Everyone, I'm hoping that version 8 will fix these problems
for those of us who use the A-T-N-T family. If not, I know there
will be many who won't have many options. Anyway, if things
aren't fixed I will be forwarding my prodigy emails to a email
account that is with my domain. I have a web domain and email
through Name Secure. There POP3 email works with the BN and is
nicely priced. I'm not sure of the current prices, but you can
check it out at
  https://www.namesecure.com/pages/email-services.jhtml
Again, I know this isn't an option that will work for everyone
but if any of you are thinking about getting a domain name it
would be a pretty easy fix for the SSL problem. Good luck to
everyone that uses A-T-N-T's email.
Sincerely,
John
