Hi Scott and list,
When I initially received my mPower exactly a year ago from this Saturday, I've also noticed that the right side of the display was lower--approximately a eigher of an inch--than the overall frame of the area surrounding it. A "surgery" - I've sent it back on September - fixed this. Apparently KGS cells are shorter than Tieman cells (the cell length itself is also a bit shorter on the KGS cells). KGS cell users (whether a new mPower or a Classic purchased after 2005) might have noticed that the right side of the display have a kind of small empty area (about an eighth of an inch long). Tieman cells does not have this, as the display itself fills the availible display frame.
Cheers,
Joseph P.S. The data here is just an estimation.

Subject: [Braillenote] Humanware staff and 18cell display users

Hi all,

This could just be a design feature with the new display, but I
thought I'd
ask here and hope someone may have an answer.
Preferably HW staff!!! who build the units.

I have the 18cell unit mPower BT.
It's purchased new as of july last year. It is not a transplant,
it is the
brand new unit direct from the factory.
The right-hand part of the display is slightly lower than the
left.
Not a lot, but enough to make it noticeable. So that the last
character on
the display is lower than the frame of the unit.
I hope this is making sense.
I can live with it, but if it isn't supposed to happen can I
please be told
what the deal is? Was it a hardware error when building my
particular unit?
Or is this how all the 18cell displays work?
I'm not paying to have it fixed as it was an issue from the day I
opened the
box!!!
just curious.
I'd be very interested to know if this can be fixed as I have to
send the
unit in for the free battery modification anyway.
Thanks for your time,
Scott Erichsen
