Dear Kevin,
Thanks so much. I have been sort of wanting instant messaging and it would be so cool to have it now. Brandan, is the problem with not being able to read the messages something wrong with the system or the BrailleNote? If it is something wrong with the E buddy system could you let them know so that they can try to fix it? Please let me know. I will be on the list until August 25th.
From,
Bobby

Hello all BrailleNote and VoiceNote Users,

Are you are looking for a solution in the short term that will
allow for you
to use your favorite instant messaging program, whether that is
AIM, Yahoo
or MSN Messenger until some form of KeyChat is released? Well,
the solution
is here, it is called eBuddy; at the moment it is still under
Beta Testing,
but it is publically available. So, there may be some bugs, but
they are
more than open for suggestions or levels of improvements.

Purpose of eBuddy:
To allow people to use their favorite instant messaging programs
anywhere
and everywhere It is available as a mobile version (mobile
version is meant
for cell phones or commercial PDAs) or as a web based version.
eBuddy
provides instant messaging on any device that has an internet
connection, it
will even work if you are behind a firewall. eBuddy means no
downloads, no
installation of software or upgrades and no registration. Best
of all it's
free.

Where can you get eBuddy?
You can sign up at the following website: http://www.ebuddy.com/

Note: In order to use AIM, Yahoo, or MSN Messenger it is required
to have a
proper account and password. You can see any of the following
websites to
get an account and password.

AIM
http://www.aim.com/
Yahoo
http://www.yahoo.com/
MSN
http://www.msn.com/

Note: If you are using a PC to access the above mentioned links,
you can
just press enter on the link and you will be brought directly to
the
selected website. If you are using a BrailleNote to access the
above
mentioned websites, it isn't possible to press enter or click on
the linnk
using the cursor routing buttons located above the braille
display. Instead,
you must either type in the address manually into the address
field in
KeyWeb or use the block commands to copy the link. To use the
block commands
do the following:
1. Place the cursor on the first character of the website you
are wishing to
copy
2. press SPACE with B or CTRL with B to access the block
commands
3. press T for top marker
4. Now, place the cursor after the last character in the website
you are
wishing to copy
5. Press SPACE with B or CTRL with B for block commands
6. Press B for bottom marker
7. Press C to copy the website to the clipboard
8. Navigate to KeyWeb
9. Press BACKSPACE with V or CTRL V to paste the website into
the address
field
10. Press ENTER, you will now be brought to the selected
website.

Happy instant messaging

Kevin
