Hi Kathleen:
Check your mail settings. Do you have it set to LEAVE MESSAGE ON SERVER?
If yes, change it such that MESSAGES ARE DELETED FROM THE SERVER when they
have been downloaded. Next time you reconnect, even though the download may
begin with number 1, you won't be downloading messages already downloaded.
That, I hope, might solve the problem you are having.
