The Serial number can be obtained from the following.
From Main menu, <space>i will give you all sorts of information
about the BrailleNote including it's Serial number.
Using that with the web site as mentioned by others, or asking
HumanWare should let you know the sma situation.

How come it is that I cannot get an answer about smas? I need to
be able to find out how to check to see if I have smas. Rehab
bought my machine and I need to know how to purchase smas if I do
not have them.
