Dear Kelby,

When you open the document, you are asked if you want to review the options. Press y for yes. The first option is" "open the file using paragraph or line format?" Type l for line. The next option is "save file in line or paragraph format?" Press l for line.

The default for opening txt files is paragraph format. That's what happened when you opened your document.

If you always want to read txt files in line format, go to the file manager ascii translation options menu. Choose line option to import all txt files in line format. Exit the menu and press y to save the changes.

Instead of opening the txt files, use the file manager import menu and import them into KeyWord. When you open the KeyWord files, they will be in line format.

Subject: [Braillenote] TXT Document Trouble

Dear List,
I seem to be having problems with with documents with a TXT extension. Single carriage returns don't seem to be showing up; only two or more will register with the notetaker. The rest all get replaced by spaces. I am having this trouble with a book I found online that contains poetry, and having it all clumped together is annoying to say the least. What can I do about this?
