Dear Kevin,
I don't think you can replace things on the web. I don't notice them in the regular email messages.

Bobby

greater thansignsintermitantly in Emails

Bobby and All,

It is possible to take out these additional markers or to tell
your email
program to not put them in at all. The reason for these
additional markers
is to distinguish from the message that you are writing and the
replied or
forwarded portion of the message.

If you have to read a message that contains these additional
markers and
they are getting to you, it is possible to do a find and replace.

Kevin

Dear All,
Why do email programs put these in if all they do is drive
people nuts? It
doesn't make any sense.

Bobby

Hi, Bob,

Most email programs will add greater-than signs to quoted
messages. I've
seen them using my PC and it drives me nuts.

Dear List,
This is the reason I joined the list this time. I am having a
problem
with reading email messages on the web. When I go to the
BrailleNote
archives and I click on a message that I remember has a reply on
it the
first message would be fine but then when it gets to the
original message
point it puts greater than signs in the message at certain
points.
Another time I have noticed when it does this is when I open the
wp temp
text version in keyweb it does the same thing. Could anyone
explain this
or tell me if they have had this problem with a pc? I find those
greater
than signs quite annoying when I am reading a message.
From,
Bobby
