Dear Chriss,
I used an old VoiceNote classic for 2 years at school before I got my mpower. It didn't lock up at all. Actually take that back, it locked up once in the 2 years I had it. However I do hate it when I switch it on and it won't move from main menu. I think that is something that HumanWare should look into so that we won't have that problem anymore. I remember one time when it wouldn't move from the main menu, which is where most of my lock ups happen and I was in science class. One of my class mates had to wait for my unit to do the reset process before she could give me the data. As I mentioned earlier this is something we should have HumanWare look into. Andrew, you are getting this message so could you give us some input here?
From,
Bobby

Chris,

I can't really say, because I use the mPower much more than I did
the classic.

Steve.

Steve and all, is it true that the mPower is more reliable than
the classic
in terms of how often it crashes? When Humanware Europe came out
last year
to show me an mPower, the unit didn't lock up once in the 40
minutes I had
with playing with it. This is actually one of the reasons why I
opted for an
mPower, because of the reliability, and I was so impressed with
it. Thanks!

Hi Chris,

The BN does occasionally need resets.
They seem to be required in various situations.
I've not known one hurt yet.

There are things like: after turning on the BN won't move from
"Main
menu"; the BN might decide it can't use the internal modem
anymore and
just gives errors; ....
I think I usually need about one a week.
If I get into a situation I can't figure out, I often ring HW,
and if they
suggest a reset, I try to remember that for next time, or a
similar next
time.
So, it's not really a bug behind these issues.
It may be a number of "bugs", but with what I don't know.
Perhaps it's KeySoft, perhaps CE Windows.
I find the BN pretty good really.
It was a good idea of HW to put in a reset button though,
because switch
off/on, (which is my first ploy when there's an odd problem),
usually
needs a reset after it.

Regards,
Steve.
